2013-03-13 14:59:27 - AVEVA to showcase solutions for EPCs and Owner Operators at key events in the North Sea region

AVEVA supports Aberdeen’s offshore oil & gas industry

Chesterfield, UK - 13 March 2013: AVEVA today announced its attendance at two key events for the Aberdeen-based North Sea oil & gas industry. IMechE: Ageing Offshore Installations and KP4 and Improving offshore facilities management, operations and maintenance will take place on 19 and 20 March respectively. AVEVA will showcase solutions for both EPCs (Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractors) and Owner Operators that enable rapid and efficient plant revamp and modification projects, demonstrating how these can reduce project execution time and cost, improving safety, and maximise data quality and integrity.

“A key challenge is to maintain the integrity of a plant’s digital information asset throughout its entire lifecycle, particularly through the disruption of

a major modification or revamp”, said Fredy Ktourza, Senior Vice-President – West EMEA, AVEVA. “Whether the work is carried out by an EPC or the OO itself, the ultimate goal must be a plant that continues to operate safely, supported by an accurate as-built digital asset and with a reliable single source of up to date and accessible information.

“We will be showcasing our brand-new plant design product, AVEVA Everything3D, to demonstrate the power of integrating laser scanning with 3D design. This enables the accurate and detailed capture of the as-built environment both before and after a revamp/modification. In addition, we will also exhibit our information management solutions that enable the consolidation and sharing of all project and asset information, maintaining its quality and integrity from design, through handover and for the asset’s entire operating life.”

At Improving offshore facilities management, operations and maintenance, AVEVA will present ‘Access to and unlocking the value of engineering information in operations’. Most plants today use many different applications which lock data away in disconnected ‘silos’, making it difficult to ensure the consistency of asset information. The presentation will describe the simple principles that unlock the information silos, enabling both Owner Operators and their EPC contractors to perform effectively.

IMechE: Ageing Offshore Installations and KP4 takes place on 19 March 2013 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Improving offshore facilities management, operations and maintenance takes place 20 March 2013 at the Hilton Aberdeen Treetops – Aberdeen. Further information is available at www.aveva.com/events.
