Atlantic-Pacific Capital is Pleased to Announce Three New Hires for Its Global Direct Private Placement Efforts

Atlantic-Pacific Capital, Inc., the largest independent global placement agent for alternative investment funds and direct private placements, announced today the hiring of three placement professionals over the past 12 months to expand its direct placement group. These new professionals are part of the firm’s on-going strategy to better serve its clients by strengthening its global direct private placement fundraising capabilities and reinforce the firm’s reputation as a leader in the private placement industry. Since inception, the firm has acted as placement agent on 53 fund and direct private placement transactions, raising over $38 billion in capital.

The recent hires include Garett Stoffels, Steven Tuch and Jonathan Zald.

Atlantic-Pacific Capital's Direct Private Placement group provides financial advisory and capital raising services to public and private companies, special purpose vehicles, and newly-formed ventures across a broad range of industries. The firm’s placement efforts assist clients in meeting a variety of capital raising objectives, including acquisition financing, project financing, recapitalizations, distressed or special situations, joint ventures, and growth capital.

Garett Stoffels joined the firm’s New York office as Co-Head of Direct Private Placements. Throughout his career, Mr. Stoffels has been directly involved in over 75 transactions aggregating in excess of $70 billion. Prior to joining Atlantic-Pacific Capital, Mr. Stoffels was a Managing Director in the Real Estate and Lodging Investment Banking group of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., where he provided capital raising and M&A advisory services to real estate companies and private equity sponsors. Previously, Mr. Stoffels was an officer in the real estate investment banking groups of J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse. Mr. Stoffels received an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, where he was a Fuqua Scholar, and a BA with Highest Honors in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Mr.
Stoffels is a CPA and a member of NAREIT.

Steven Tuch joined the firm’s Greenwich, CT office as Co-Head of Direct Private Placements. Mr. Tuch spent the last four years at Deutsche Bank where he was a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets and also head of the firm’s Private Equity Placement group. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he was the head of the Private Equity Placement group at Thomas Weisel Partners and a member of the Private Equity Placement group at Montgomery Securities. Earlier in his career, Mr. Tuch worked in private equity, first at The Blackstone Group and then at Corporate Partners, LP. In addition to executing numerous M&A, private equity and capital market transactions during his career, Mr. Tuch has completed over 70 direct placement transactions in a variety of industries. Mr. Tuch holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Jonathan Zald joined the firm’s New York office as an Associate focusing on the Direct Private Placement effort. Previously, Mr. Zald was an Investment Banking Analyst with Oppenheimer & Co. (previously CIBC World Markets) in both the Leveraged Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions departments. While at Oppenheimer, he advised clients on buy-side and sell-side transactions in the consumer products, business services, industrial, healthcare, and technology industries. Mr. Zald pursued a dual-degree program at the University of Michigan earning a BBA with Distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and a BA in Economics.
