The critical role water plays in maintaining life on Earth, combined with the disappearance of natural water resources, the shrinking of the polar ice caps, and plastic water bottle waste, is a topic ripe for exploration through art. The diversity of the artwork presented in this exhibition illustrates the wide range of ways we interact with water on a daily basis. As public awareness regarding the erosion of natural water resources is further raised, this exhibition shows some of the many ways in which water has made its way into the artistic consciousness. An examination of artists whose work utilizes water as subject matter allows one to explore both the visual truths of global warming and the aesthetic and formal qualities of water.
