- Cubellis, an international architecture, interior design and engineering firm, was recognized at the 2008 Annual Monument Awards for superior design work on single-family homes. Sponsored by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association and the Maryland-National Capital Building Association, the Monument Award recognizes superior home design and community site planning throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.

The awards were decided by a panel of judges comprised of nearly 50 real estate industry professionals which considered a variety of elements to determine this year's winners, including floor plan innovation; the balance of design, value and curb appeal; and consumer acceptance.

Cubellis, partnered with the homebuilder Advantage Homes, took honors for architectural services on two winning single-family homes: Bancroft, Wallace

Landing, in the Single-Family Homes (on lots 7,000 s.f. and over) under $500,000 category, and Calvert, Urbana Highlands, in the Single-Family Homes (on lots 7,000 s.f. and over) $500,001-$600,000 category. Partnering with Churchill Group, Cubellis won in the category of single-family homes (on lots under 7,000 s.f.) $500,001-$600,000 for its design of Katlyn, The Glen at Hidden Creek.
