SIMI VALLEY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/17/09 -- The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Ann McLaughlin Korologos and Theodore B. Olson to its Board of Trustees.
"Ann and Ted will be such wonderful additions to the Board," said former first lady Nancy Reagan. "Ronnie depended on Ann and Ted's strong leadership and their dedication has never wavered. I know that it would mean so much to him to have them both back as part of the Reagan Team, especially during this important time of growth for the Foundation."
Ann McLaughlin Korologos was President Reagan's United States Secretary of Labor from 1987-1989. Prior to that she had served as the Under Secretary of
the Department of the Interior and as Under Secretary of the Department of the Treasury. Ms. McLaughlin Korologos currently heads up the Reagan Foundation's Legacy Council.
Ted Olson served as an Assistant Attorney General in President Reagan's administration from 1981 to 1984 before returning to private practice as a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of his former law firm. He later served as legal counsel to President Reagan. Mr. Olson successfully represented presidential candidate George W. Bush in the Supreme Court case Bush v. Gore, which effectively determined the final result of the contested 2000 presidential election. Olson served as U.S. Solicitor General under Bush from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Olson holds the record for presenting the most cases in front of the United States Supreme Court.
