I saw Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D last night and would like to welcome Anita Briem into my WOW club. I'm still trying to figure out if it was the amazing special effects, her multi-layered performance, or striking facial features that made the Icelandic actress pop off the screen.

It will definitely be interesting to see if Journey... propels her to stardom. The movie was one of the most amazing thrill-rides I'd ever experienced in a theater - A non-stop adrenaline rush that had me jumping out of my seat. The 3-D effects are absolutely mind-blowing!

Aside from Björk, no other names come instantly to mind when thinking of Iceland and international pop culture - I think Ms. Briem stands a good chance at changing our consciousness of her little Viking nation.

I think I've found a new muse!
