Andy Martin says Representative Annie Custer should resign because of her nonpayment of state taxes

Print article Print article

2013-02-05 11:09:09 - Republican leader Andy Martin will hold a telephone news conference today, Tuesday, February 5th to call on Representative Annie Custer to resign so that a new congressional election can be held. “Here we have an Obama-style multimillionaire congresswoman who doesn’t think New Hampshire’s tax laws apply to her. Has this become the Obama norm, or what? Unfortunately, the Republican Party has neutered itself by electing a state chairman who owes even more money in unpaid federal taxes. So New Hampshire Republican committee members are silenced by their own stupidity. The voters were not given an informed choice for Congress last November. It’s time to put an end to the new ‘New Hampshire tax flu’ of politicians not paying state and federal taxes,” Andy says.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ANNOUNCEMENT OF TELEPHONE NEWS CONFERENCE

New Hampshire Republican leader and corruption fighter Andy Martin says U. S. Representative Annie Kuster should resign from Congress so voters can have a second chance to decide whether she is fit to serve

Andy says multimillionaire Kuster should be able to pay her New Hampshire taxes; Kuster’s excuse that she stopped paying her state taxes when she became a congressional candidate is a disgrace to politics

Andy says Republican State Chairman Jennifer Horn is neutered because of her own unpaid taxes; Andy says Horn should also step down since Horn is obviously incapable of attacking Democrats for failing to pay their taxes

“How can Annie Kuster manage the nation’s finances, when she can’t manage her own Andy demands

Andy says Annie Kuster’s repeated refusal to pay taxes on time is a “women-bites-dog” story: Democrats have pushed taxes so high in Washington and Concord, they can’t pay the taxes they have imposed on everyone else

Andy says President Obama should be embarrassed by Kuster’s arrogance

(MANCHESTER, NH) (February 5, 2013) New Hampshire Republican leader and corruption fighter Andy Martin will hold a telephone news conference today, February 5th to demand that Representative Annie Kuster step down so that a new congressional election may be held. “Why is news of Kuster’s non-payment of New Hampshire taxes surfacing after the election Andy asks (see link below). “What kind of ineffective candidates does the Republican party field? And why has the official New Hampshire Republican Party not condemned Kuster’s non-payment of taxes? Because the state chairman of the Republican Party hasn’t paid her taxes either. Is this a new type of ‘New Hampshire tax flu

“Kuster is a multi-millionaire. She says she became a full-time candidate and a full-time tax evader at the same time. Since when is running for office an excuse not to pay your taxes? Oh, I forgot, the Republicans established that precedent with Jennifer Horn in 2008 and 2010. So now we have tax cheats in both parties. Is it any surprise New Hampshire voters are disgusted with both parties? Both parties are run by crooks.

“There are occasionally legitimate tax questions, and a taxpayer might ask for an extension. But simply not paying your taxes? Where do they find that in the New Hampshire statutes, in Kuster’s case, or federal income tax law in Horn’s case?

“Kuster claims to be a multimillionaire. But according to WMUR-TV Kuster is a habitual tax evader. She has repeatedly not paid her property taxes. That is disgraceful behavior. Are taxes too high because of Governor Lynch? Is Governor Hassan going to push taxes even higher? We have a woman-bites-dog story: Democrats have pushed taxes in New Hampshire so high, they can't pay their own taxes.

“Why can’t Kuster pay her taxes? I hope she is not going to claim Obama’s tax increases make her unable to meet her bills. But maybe she will. Kuster voted for Obamacare, and she is a leader in Obama’s crusade to bankrupt America.

“What message does it send to ordinary citizens when a sitting U.S. Representative fails to pay her taxes despite being a multimillionaire? Kuster can’t manage her own finances but she is trying to manage the federal government’s finances. Kuster is voting for more deficits and more borrowing and higher taxes in Washington while claiming she can’t pay her state taxes back home. That’s disgraceful.

“I am a loyal conservative Republican but I want to make it clear that my committee, ‘New Hampshire Republicans is independent of the state party structure. I am committed to public integrity, political ethics and government accountability.

“I will have more to say about Horn’s election as state chairman in a few hours. But, in the meantime, if Horn cannot issue a statement condemning Kuster because of the conflict of interest created by Horn’s own unpaid tax bills, Horn has been neutered as a leader and she should step down. Horn’s silence about Kuster’s non-payment of state taxes is an embarrassment to the Republican Party and to ordinary taxpaying Republicans across the state.

“It is clear Kuster deceived the voters last November, and her Republican opponent failed to do a competent job as an opposing candidate. That’s why he lost.

“What should be the remedy for Kuster’s tax fraud? I suggest it should be ‘Kuster’s last stand Kuster should resign and allow a new congressional election to be held in which both parties vigorously question the qualifications of their opponents Andy suggests. “That’s what elections are for.

“Sadly, ‘Kuster’s last stand’ has also demonstrated the lack of wisdom state committee Republicans showed in electing Horn. As long as Horn is state chairman Democrats are free to cheat on their taxes, and Horn will remain silent. What a disgrace to the political process

Andy landed in South Florida Wednesday as the FBI seized the files of U. S. Senator Robert Menendez’ political crony. Andy, a veteran congressional investigator, is pursuing Menendez’ financial improprieties and alleged sexual misconduct.
