2014-02-05 17:59:46 - Urgent Care Center Classification has been developed to provide information to the public about Urgent Care Medicine and the various levels of clinic resources available
After consideration and requests from regulatory agencies, insurance carriers, payors and governmental entities, the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM) has developed a National Classification for Urgent Care Centers. Using input from physicians from a number of specialties and after review by the AAUCM, the Classification for Urgent Care Centers was established.
The Classification for Urgent Care Centers is an easily understood scale used to express to patients, consumers and the medical community the abilities and available resources at a clinical center. This is a first step in the education of the public in the field of Urgent Care Medicine and what level of treatment is available at each clinic location.
