- Allied Telesis, a provider of secure global IP/Ethernet solutions today announced that it has joined the partner ecosystem supporting Microsoft Network Access Protection technology.
Network Access Protection is a policy enforcement technology built into the Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 operating systems that allows customers to better protect network assets from unhealthy computers by enforcing compliance with
network health policies. Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology is available with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.
Allied Telesis' solution supports Network Access Protection by enforcing user access based on network policy rules. Standards-based IEEE 802.1x port-based security and RADIUS implementations enable users to be placed dynamically in pre-defined VLANs depending on their identity and end-point status. This provides superior granular network control and isolates problems before they reach the network. Network Access Protection is currently available on a range of Allied Telesis Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches.
"Network security in the enterprise is an essential requirement and Allied Telesis is committed to providing secure networks based on open standards" said Melvyn Wray, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Allied Telesis. "We see interoperability with Microsoft Network Access Protection on our range of advanced switches as a valuable addition to our comprehensive security offerings."
"Allied Telesis support for Network Access Protection shows the continued growth of our partner eco system said Calvin Choe, Director of technical business development, Enterprise Security Group at Microsoft. "Allied Telesis' advanced network switches working with Network Access Protection will benefit customers by providing a secure resilient network platform that enables unprecedented network control without the need for third party software."
