Milwaukee, WI, October 26, 2012 – Alfons Gallery is continuing the long-term commitment of the School Sisters of St. Francis to the arts by hosting “Poetry Quest a poetry reading presented in cooperation with the Greenleaf Writers, on November 2 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The reading coincides with the gallery’s current exhibit, “Drawn Meditations: Recent Work by Sister Janet Petersen
Poetry Quest’ provides an opportunity to experience another aspect of Sister Janet’s personal expression says Alfons Gallery Director and Curator Valerie J. Christell. “It expands on her drawn meditations while providing a setting for others to not only listen but join in. Additional events that expand on exhibits’ concepts are what I plan to present for each show at the Gallery
The poetry reading will be led by Sister Janet and Sister Irene Zimmerman, both of whom have published their poetry. It will also include readings by Greenleaf Writers and is open to readings by other poets as well as anyone who would like to read a favorite poem. Refreshments will be served.
“Drawn Meditations” runs through November 25, 2012.
