SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/10/09 -- On October 26, 2009 Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger furthered the potential for the implementation of renewable energy systems by assisting one of California's largest utilities, PG&E, in increasing the amount of net metering for rooftop solar from 2.5% to 3.5% of its peak customer demand. This means that in the coming years, more of California's residents can install photovoltaic (PV) sytems on their homes and commercial buildings to achieve renewable energy benefits.



The Governor has a great legacy of supporting renewable energy through legislation. Albiasa's Chief Project Engineer, Albert Fong, commented on the net metering announcement and another of the Governor's recent actions by stating, "Versatile groups like Albiasa work in both the commercial and utility scale renewable energy fields. More flexible net metering standards are the perfect way to increase the amount of PV systems installed in California, and it is a great example of the Governor's commitment to solar energy."

This refers to the September Executive Order that increases the California Renewable Portfolio Standard to 33% by 2020.
