2009 Hardlines Technology Forum - The American Hardware Manufacturers Association (AHMA) today announced it will present a one and one half day program on the Essentials of Supply Chain Management during the 2009 AHMA Hardlines Technology Forum at the Lowes Philadelphia Hotel in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This event will be begin Tuesday morning, April 21, 2009, and will

finish with attendees participating in the extremely popular HTF Buyer Panel on April 22nd.
The program promises to deliver the critical competencies required to manage the diverse components of a supply chain " materials, products, processes, and information " on a regional or global scale.
By partnering with the Penn State University Smeal College of Business, the program is able to provide presenters who have experience with this level of education. The speakers at the AHMA Executive Supply Chain Essentials have many years of experience in teaching at the university level as well as consulting for major corporations, writing research papers and books, and communicating best-practices standards to a wide variety of audiences. They have been recognized for their expertise with many top awards from highly respected supply chain industry organizations.
Upon completion of the program, executives will better understand how to integrate all functions along the chain through shared objectives, develop common performance matrices, improve customer satisfaction through shorter delivery times, use information technology to enhance performance, and work effectively in alliances and partnerships of the extended supply chain.
"Business and technology professionals are working more closely together than ever before, and HTF is at the forefront of this dynamic," said Timothy S. Farrell, AHMA"s president and chief executive officer. "With this co-located addition of the Executive Supply Chain Essentials to the overall program, AHMA is taking our leadership role in the industry"s supply chain excellence initiative to the next logical level," Farrell added.
This new event will be offered as an "invitation only" program. Participation will be limited to 30 executives, which will provide added value in the form of high level networking and the opportunity to work together with others who have similar concerns. Another unique element is that the program will conclude with the HTF exclusive Buyer Panel. The Buyer Panel assembles leading retailers and distributors who provide valuable insights into their future plans for ecommerce directly affecting Forum attendees.
