2013-02-14 20:54:13 - Eberts will pay tribute to some of the most iconic hot rods to date at Amelia Island Concours.

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. – Feb. 14, 2013 – Automotive Fine Arts Society President Ken Eberts will showcase a spectacular selection of artwork alongside fellow AFAS members during the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, March 8-10, 2013, in Amelia Island, Fla. This year, Eberts will feature a new limited edition giclée print named 32 Zephyr as well as another original watercolor and gouache masterpiece titled “They Call It Detroit both of which pay tribute to some of the most iconic hot rods to date.

“My two original pieces being displayed at the Amelia Island Concours highlight the classic styling, flowing lines and excellent craftsmanship of some of the most beautiful hot rods said Eberts. “The artisan attention to detail on these

cars inspired me to celebrate their beauty at one of the most amazing settings imaginable

’32 Zephyr is a 26” x 30” limited edition giclée print featuring a blue ‘32 Ford based Lincoln Zephyr hot rod sitting prominently adjacent to the impressive Edsel Ford Estate in Detroit during winter. With classic white wall tires and chrome center caps, beige rag top and plush red leather interior, the ‘32 Ford powered car glistens in the sunlight. Combining vibrant colors and exquisite detail, Eberts captivates the audience and pulls them into the serenity of the scene.

Eberts’ second piece, “They Call It Detroit is a 18” x 24” watercolor and gouache original that features Chip Foose’s Ridler Award hot rods. The piece shows Foose’s three “best in show” award winning rods at the Detroit Autorama in front of the famous Cobo Hall Convention Center. The most prominent Foose creation is the ’36 Ford Roadster painted in shades of silver, charcoal and cream, rumored to have cost a million dollars to build. Featuring teardrop headlights with sweeping bodylines and chrome spoke wheels, Eberts captures every stunning detail.

Eberts graduated from New York’s High School of Music and Art and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Over the past 44 years, he has produced over 1,200 original paintings that are in public and private collections worldwide. His work has been exhibited throughout the United States, earning numerous awards, including honors from the City of Los Angeles, American Artist Magazine, the City of Beverly Hills and the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. Eberts helped establish AFAS and has been president since its inception in 1983.

In 2005, Eberts received Meguiar’s “Treasure of the Hobby Award making it the first time ever that an automotive artist was the recipient. In 2003, he was named Ford Motor Company’s official Centennial Artist and was commissioned to create 13 original paintings that were used as a calendar to celebrate Ford’s 100th Anniversary.
