Advanced Computer Software to advise public sector organisations on cloud computing

Print article Print article
2011-01-24 10:18:31 - Advanced Computer Software Group plc (Advanced), a leading provider of software and IT services to public, private and third sector organisations, is showcasing its portfolio of accounting, human resource (HR), business intelligence, cloud computing and managed services offerings at Government ICT 2011 (25 January 2011, QEII Conference Centre, London).

Advanced’s financial management and information systems provider, Advanced Business Solutions (formerly COA Solutions), and managed services division, Advanced 365 (formerly Business Systems Group), will also jointly present a seminar briefing on the effect of cloud computing on the public sector. This seminar will demonstrate how public sector organisations can reduce costs through cloud computing, shared services and managed services and effectively utilise the flexibility of these different offerings in order to drive business efficiencies (12:00pm, Seminar F, on 25 January 2011).

Following the Comprehensive Spending Review, public sector organisations are now placing a greater emphasis on cutting costs and maintaining tighter financial control whilst delivering the same standard of service levels. Outsourcing non-business critical functions, such as IT, and investing in

integrated back-office systems, such as accounting and HR software, operated within a shared or managed services environment are therefore expected to form key considerations in 2011.

Neil Cross, Managing Director of Advanced 365, comments, “Cloud computing and shared services models are becoming a rapidly maturing option for public sector organisations seeking to gain cost efficiencies and instant access to a range of quality IT services. However despite this surge in interest, some organisations are failing to consider whether they are fully equipped to take advantage of these new services and what is the best option for them to choose in order to go about the process.”

Cross adds, “Our seminar briefing will address some of the common pitfalls to avoid and highlight how many of our public sector customers are improving operational efficiency and reducing costs by using cloud computing, shared and managed services.”
