Mrs. Heflin-Ewing has

over 30 years of performance excellence leadership in government innovation and improvement. She most recently served as the Organizational Development Coordinator for the City of Coral Springs from 1994 until mid-2008, where she functioned as an Internal Consultant on team work, process improvement, and measurement. She also served as the Coach for the 1998 and 2005 Florida State Champion Process Improvement Teams and was a major contributor when the city became the first government organization ever to win the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2007. In addition, she served as part of the team that led Coral Springs to its 1997 and 2003 Florida Sterling Award wins.

Mrs. Heflin-Ewing's vast experience spans not only city government, but also county and federal government as well. She directed the Budget and Research Department of Pima County, Arizona for seven years, and worked in the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. for nine years as a Management and Policy Analyst.

As the Director of ActiveStrategy's Public Sector Consulting Practice, Mrs. Heflin-Ewing will be responsible for growing and improving the company's approaches to serving the public sector. She will also design approaches to achieving quantum improvement in governments whose senior management is committed to strategic change and organizational improvement. As she continues to serve as a Baldrige Examiner, she will assist governments in adopting the Baldrige model to drive systematic, continuous improvement.

"Christine is a tremendous addition to the ActiveStrategy team," says Michael Brazukas, Vice President & Principal of ActiveStrategy's Consulting Practice. "Her performance excellence experience coupled with her years in city, county, and federal government give her unique insight into the strategy execution challenges faced by public sector organizations."
