Active Storage, Inc. today announced significant performance and ease of use enhancements to the Active Storage XRAID", a powerful, self-contained high-availability RAID storage system for Apple® users.

Debuted only last October 2008, the Active Storage XRAID features the industry's only native Mac® OS X management suite and offers outstanding performance in Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server,

and Xsan® applications, housed in a beautifully styled and functional 3U enclosure. The Active Storage XRAID is designed from the ground up to produce consistent, high throughput and low latency in demanding multi-user Apple applications. It is an ideal example of a well engineered product with well thought out execution offering both function and beauty that is truly more than "skin deep.'

"With the Active Storage XRAID, we raised the bar of storage for Apple users not only with a stunning appearance, but with functionality and performance as well. With today's announcement of doubling the controller cache RAM and adding a significant number of new optimization profiles to take advantage of the greater cache memory, the Active Storage XRAID just got faster with even lower latency," said Alex Grossman, CEO, Active Storage, Inc.

The Active Storage XRAID's advanced architecture, modern LINUX based RAID kernel and segmented caching scheme allowed Active Storage to quickly enhance the system's capabilities to meet the demands of customers growing needs, pushing price/performance for Apple users to new levels, delivering higher throughput and lower latency than could be previously achieved in high-demand and multi-user environments.

Existing customers can be easily and cost effectively upgraded with a simple memory change and a software update.

Pricing and Availability

Active Storage XRAID is available now in the USA, Europe, Canada and Mexico. Active Storage XRAID products are available through selected VARs and Resellers.

The Active Storage XRAID is suggested retail priced at US $14,999 with standard 2GB Cache memory. The Active Storage XRAID Expansion System is suggested retail priced at US $12,999.
