(NASDAQ:ACPW), inventor and manufacturer of the most reliable and energy-efficient critical power systems in the world, announced today David Perkins, chief technical officer, and Martin Olsen,
director of product management and development, will deliver presentations at 7x24 Exchange Fall 2007 and The Uptime Institute 2007 Design Charrette, respectively.
Perkins will address the various elements of "green-ness," as it relates to the data center environment, including power and space requirements, pending legislation, program certifications, Green Grid efforts and more. His presentation titled "Peeling the (Green) Onion: What Does Green Really Mean for Data Center Power?" will discuss practical methods to minimize overhead power consumption by improving energy efficiency. Perkins will also explore viable, reliable quality power alternatives at the facility level. He is slated to speak on Monday, Oct. 29, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, Texas.
At The Uptime Institute Design Charrette, Olsen will discuss how achieving energy efficiency and a level of "green-ness" in a data center application starts during the design phase. He will explain the four performance factors that determine "green-ness" from a design standpoint - system efficiency, renewable energy sources, interoperability and right-sizing. With data centers becoming more power hungry and operators rapidly running out of floor space, Olsen will explain the benefits of right-sizing the data center and how modular power and cooling can significantly help address these power and space pain points. Olsen will deliver his presentation titled "Modular Power and Cooling Utility in a Box - Driving Efficiencies through Rapidly Deployed and Right-Sized Power and Cooling" during the Charrette's Technology Design Innovation Forum. The presentation is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29, at 10:10 a.m. at the Eldorado Hotel and Spa in Santa Fe, N.M.
