- Boosting the Group’s B2C audience
- Integrating and operating a highly profitable business
- Accelerating the Group’s international deployment
Julien Parrou, Actiplay’s President, describes the takeover as “Particularly important for our group. With more than 90% of its revenue generated internationally, Telaxo has a gaming catalogue that reaches a very wide audience, as well as renowned technical skills in audience generation on Facebook. In terms of expertise, it was a shared vision of the sector that brought us together, as their casual gaming catalogue is perfectly streamlined with our own offering and approach. Telaxo’s undisputed skills in audience development combined with our ability to generate value for our advertising clients have convinced us that we have chosen a high quality partner with whom we will be able to deploy our cross-media strategy.”
The acquisition of Telaxo is a decisive step
in the group’s development. Gaming on Facebook has become a must and generates big audiences: with this takeover Actiplay has once again confirmed its objective to bring companies closer to their customers and roll out its gaming campaigns across all media.
Telaxo, specialized in casual gaming on Facebook
Orléans based Telaxo is a publisher specialized in casual gaming which boasts cutting-edge technical skills in the production and adaptation of games in the Facebook environment. With an offering of almost 130 games published on social media, Telaxo has a total audience of nearly 17 million active users per month (sources Appstat/Facebook).
The social media gaming market is enjoying very strong growth and represents a development priority for Actiplay. Telaxo is France’s leading company on this market in terms of audience, and one of the top 10 worldwide.
Thanks to this position and to a model based on advertising revenue, Telaxo is a fast-growing company with 2011 turnover of €460,000 (+87% vs 2010) and operating margin around 40%. Revenue for 2012 is expected to reach nearly €800 K.
Telaxo business will be consolidated in Actiplay accounts starting from 15 November 2012.
The acquisition will be financed mainly in cash and also partially by an exchange of shares.
A decisive step in the Group’s international deployment
Nicolas Babin, the group’s Managing Director, emphasizes the importance of this acquisition for Actiplay: “The integration of these skills and these audiences into our group will enable us to bring our repertoire of casual games rapidly onto social networks. The impact on our BtoB business will also be substantial since we will be able to relay the campaigns of our advertising clients to millions of users. Telaxo’s technical skills combined with our know-how in terms of monetizing audiences are at the heart of the technical and commercial synergies we are expecting”.
Thanks to this operation Actiplay has gained a strong foothold and top-level expertise in social media and will now have:
- the ideal means to roll out its gaming offering further on social networks,
- an increase in audience for the Group’s BtoB campaigns,
- an opportunity to speed up its international development.
This ambitious move on social media demonstrates Actiplay’s ability to select acquisition targets in line with the strategy defined when the company was first listed on Alternext.
