- For the second time in a decade Academy Award(R) winning producer June Beallor has produced and directed a slew of high profile films for the Democratic National Convention with a film featured almost every night of the political confab; among them the opening night film for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, President Jimmy Carter's New Orleans profile, Vice
Presidential Candidate Joe Biden's introduction film and the closing night tribute film to Martin Luther King, Jr., to air on the exact day 45 years after his "I Have a Dream" speech.
Beallor filmed former President Jimmy Carter as he surveyed New Orleans to highlight the continuing plight of its citizens on the three-year anniversary of Katrina. Beallor also traveled to Wilmington, Delaware to profile Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden and his family and to Washington, D.C. to profile Speaker Pelosi.
Beallor served as Senior Producer and Director for the 2004 Democratic National Convention film unit, working with convention executive producers Ricky Kirshner & Don Mischer and was brought in again by Kirshner and his Convention executive producing partner, Mark Squier.
June Beallor is also a Co-Founding Executive Director of Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation, established in 1994 to collect and preserve more than 50,000 testimonies of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses.
Based in Los Angeles on the Universal Studios lot, June Beallor Productions develops and produces features, TV movies/series, documentaries, film packages, live events, tribute films, promotional videos, spots and segments. Beallor's work has garnered many awards including Oscar(R), Emmy(R), Peabody, Cable Ace and Edward R. Murrow Excellence in Journalism, among others.
