A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of B+ (Good) and assigned an issuer credit rating (ICR) of "bbb-" of RWJ University Hospital-SAAML (Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick) (Hamilton, Bermuda). The outlook for both ratings is stable.

Concurrently, A.M. Best has withdrawn the ratings at the company's request and assigned an NR-4 to the FSR

and an "nr" to the ICR. These rating actions reflect Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick's management's decision to withdraw from A.M. Best's interactive rating process.

The ratings reflect Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick's good capitalization, experienced management team, excellent risk management program, considerable market share in the primary service area and strategic relationship with Robert Wood Johnson Health System. The ratings also take into account Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick's stable growth and high occupancy rates. Partially offsetting these positive rating factors are the company's fluctuating results, relatively high retention levels, limited business scope and regulatory constraints.

Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick's risk management program develops and maintains cutting-edge technology programs, sophisticated risk management initiatives incorporating quarterly claim reviews, clinical satisfaction surveys, a formal orientation program with an emphasis on physician participation in the risk management process and physician educational programs. The ratings also consider the role Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick serves in providing hospital professional and general liability coverage to participating physicians within this facility.

A.M. Best remains the leading rating agency of captive insurers rating a wide variety of more than 200 captives in the United States and throughout the world.
